This site is a mock-up. I am not accepting new business at this time.
Heather Watson
I have been passionate about photography ever since I won my first digital camera at a grad night raffle in high school (Panama City, FL - 2003). I have been obsessively capturing the world around me ever since. In addition to photography, I also dabble in other forms of creative art - jewelry making, writing, embroidery, to name a few.
Professionally I chose a path in healthcare and was a practicing pharmacist for almost 10 years. In 2020, I retired from that life to focus on homeschooling my two children while traveling the country (and one day, the world). Today I am focused on turning my photography hobby into a profession. I celebrate diversity and am deeply passionate about supporting the LGBTQ+ community, people of color, and other minoritized groups. As I expand my portfolio and start to work with clients, I look forward to photographing individuals and families from all walks of life.
I prefer candid, unstaged shots. I use editing tools to adjust color and light when necessary but I do not "Photoshop" or airbrush my subjects. I am the type of person who cuts her own hair and rarely (if ever) wears make-up, so if you consider yourself an unconventional beauty who values aesthetics outside the norm, I'm your girl.
I love natural light. I am very fortunate to spend most of my time near the ocean. I am obsessed with sunsets, clouds, water, and the colors and shapes that are reflected between them. Sunset beach portraits are my absolute favorite to shoot, so if you would like some professional quality portraits of your family at the beach, bathed in the warm colors of sunset, contact me to schedule a meet-up.
Currently my family and I are digital nomads. We roam seasonally and work and homseschool remotely.
January - September you can find me on Hutchinson Island in Jensen Beach, FL.
October - December I will be in Hilton Head Island, SC.
Both spots have amazing beaches that are just drenched in soft light and the most amazing colors at sunset - perfect for portraits. Weekends are best for me, but if you have a different timeline, feel free to reach out and I'll see what I can do.
Future: this summer we fell in love with New England. Hoping to find a permanent basecamp up there for a couple months a year. Nothing is written in stone, but chances are you can find me around Boothbay Harbor, ME in July 2023.
And because I am new to the world of professional portraits, I think you'll find that I'm a bargain compared to other photographers.
I am constantly studying and practicing to develop my skills, but until I get more experience working with clients, you can enjoy booking my time at introductory rates.
$50 booking fee - that will cover up to an hour of shooting. I will send you proofs and you pick your favorites. You select the ones you like most, and for $15 per photo I will give you access to high res digital downloads and for an additional $10 I will mail you a hardcopy drive with all the pictures you purchased.
If that's outside of your desired budget, please reach out. Mini-sessions are available. Price shouldn't be a barrier to capturing beautiful moments that will last a lifetime - I am happy to try to work with anyone.
